New England is about to get hit with another big storm. Why not make an easy, delicious meal for the snow shoveler in your family?
This is a very old Weight Watchers Recipe that I fell in love with years ago and still make regularly.
One steak, any cut, any size- whatever you have
*One packet of Onion Soup Mix
*One jar of Cream of Mushroom
*To make this meal gluten friendly, I use Trader Joes Onion Dip Mix and Pacific Cream of Mushroom
Place the steak in the bottom of the crockpot, top with the onion soup mix and cream of mushroom after mixing the two together.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours
PARMESAN POLENTA SIDE
I understand that not everyone in the North East keeps polenta as a pantry staple, but I still had to share this delicious recipe. It is amazing.
¼ c. butter
3 ½ c. chicken broth
1 c. instant polenta
1 c. grated parmesan cheese
In a medium pot, bring ¼ c. of butter and chicken broth to a boil.
Mealwhile, in a large saucepan, melt the remaining butter of high heat.
Whisk polenta and cheese in the butter and broth over the heat. Stir until thickened.
“WHATCHA GOT” CHILI
This recipe is doesn’t have specific ingredients! Grab what ever is in your fridge, freezer, or cans from the pantry! My usual mixtures are leftover salsa, marinara sauce, corn, beans, sliced onions, peppers, stewed tomatoes, spices, and whatever meat I have. If you like to make it spicy, green beans are a good addition to even out the heat. Mix all the ingredients you have chosen in the slow cooker and heat!
Meat: It is best to cut the raw meat into pieces and cook with the mixture from its raw state for about 8 hours on low. This makes the meat nice and tender!
Without Meat: This can be ready to eat within 2 hours on high!
Serve with rice!
